This amazing program continues to bless more and more of our employees every year. In 2018 we had 38 departments and several private donors that adopted a family or made gracious donations. We received an abundance of toys, gifts cards, and food. We were able to help 77 families. We are so grateful for the generosity of all the departments for supporting the Christmas Adopt a Family program in 2018.
Please know that everyone’s generosity made an impact to these families on pick up day. We received a lot of reactions, including one family who stated, “I am speechless. We didn’t put a tree up this year because we didn’t think we would have any gifts.” Another told us tearfully, “Please tell the department that adopted us that this is truly a Christmas miracle to our family. They have no idea.”
A very special thanks to Dennis Swihart and Tom Ryan of Courier Services—they provided us with transportation. Also, thanks to the large group in the Prestige Plaza lobby that was able to help us load all of the gifts onto the truck. And of course, thank you to our volunteers for helping it all run smoothly—Laurissa Ferguson, Debbie Zink, Penny Beery, and Lisa Meadows.
