Congratulations to Cheryl Shaw, Greene Memorial Hospital, Med/Surg, on her son Nicholas’ crowning as King of the Greene County Fair.
Also, congratulations, Beth Bogan, Stroke Coordinator, and her children’s successes! Sarah took the rabbit and chicken championship. She earned second with her homegrown buck and third and fourth with the rest of her rabbits. Dean won third with his market chickens and fourth with his turkey, and Allison won reserve grand champion with her turkey! And lastly, a shout out to Caitlyn and Elizabeth McDonald, daughters of Terri McDonald, clinical manager of Med/Surg at Greene. Caitlyn won the Reserve Grand Champion Market Broilers, Market Goat, and Purebred York. Elizabeth won several ribbons in equestrian events, taking first place in jumping and second in bareback equitation.
Also, thank you to the more than 75 staff volunteers who worked at the hospital booth or at the first-aid booth during the fair! Our first-aid team provided all-day service to everyone at the fair and made sure the participants, attendees, and organizers were safe, covered in sunscreen, and well-hydrated!
