COVID-19 Testing for Pre-procedural, Surgery, Employee Health, and Community

Read Time: 2 mins

With the decreased incidence of COVID-19 infections in the communities our facilities serve, we are eliminating COVID testing for all surgical and procedural areas effective March 4, 2022.

Scheduling of previously infected or COVID-positive patients will remain in effect as follows:

  1. 30 days: Asymptomatic patient or patient with mild, non-respiratory symptoms.

Patients may be placed on the schedule no fewer than 30 days after the date of the swab that resulted in a positive test unless a surgeon-to-anesthesia conversation occurs.

  1. 50 days: Symptomatic patients who were hospitalized with and for COVID-19. Patients may be placed on the schedule no fewer than 50 days after the date of the swab that resulted in a positive test unless a surgeon-to-anesthesia conversation occurs.

The decrease in volume of need for ambulatory COVID testing has dropped and thus we are condensing our test sites.

  • Pre-procedural and Surgical patients: Community Outreach will work with PAT to ensure all patients who are scheduled after March 4 are notified of the closure and the updated testing requirement. All other scheduled patients will be called to inform them of our closure.
  • Employees: Testing will be available through On Demand Care and Kettering Health’s Urgent Care sites.  Please continue to contact Employee Health.
  • To independent offices: Community Outreach will call offices who utilize the drive-thru.
  • At the sites: Signs announcing the closure will be placed upon close of business on March 4.
  • Website: Kettering Health’s website will be updated with information regarding the closure of the drive-thru sites; however, the ability to schedule COVID testing appointments at On-Demand Care and Kettering Health’s Urgent Care sites will still be available.
