Adan A. Fuentes, D.O.

Read Time: 1 min

Meet Adan Fuentes, otolaryngologist at Kettering Health. Dr. Fuentes was born and raised in McAllen, Texas along the Texas-Mexico border. He spent many of his summers in Monterey, Mexico with his grandparents. Medicine was a second career for him—he worked as an actor, director, and theater teacher for 10 years before starting medical school at the age of 30. He was passionate about osteopathic manipulations, so he trained at the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine at Ohio University. He spent his clinical years at Grandview Medical Center and went on to complete his internship and ENT residency there, also.

In 2008, he started his practice with Southwest Ohio ENT Specialists and became the otolaryngology residency program director. He has been training student interns and residents for the past 19 years. Dr. Fuentes started his journey with Kettering Health as an intern in 2003 and then his formal practice in 2008.

Dr. Fuentes considers his greatest accomplishment at Kettering Health has been growing our residency program and the transition into an ACGME program. When he was in residency, he had the opportunity to train at many institutions around Ohio and in neighboring states, but Grandview and Kettering always felt like home. Every time he rotated at a different hospital, he compared that institution to his experience here, and there was no comparison. That’s when he knew Grandview was the place for him.
