All Eligible Network Hospitals Receive “A” Safety Grade

Read Time: 1 min

All eligible Kettering Health Network hospitals earned an “A” from the Leapfrog Group, a national patient safety watchdog, ranking among the safest hospitals in the United States.

The hospitals receiving an “A” are

  • Kettering Medical Center
  • Sycamore Medical Center
  • Grandview Medical Center
  • Southview Medical Center
  • Soin Medical Center
  • Greene Memorial Hospital
  • Fort Hamilton Hospital

Troy Hospital, having opened in June 2019, could not be rated because the data used for grading is from multiple years. Kettering Behavioral Medicine Center was not included because Leapfrog does not grade certain specialty hospitals.

Developed under the guidance of a National Expert Panel, the grade uses 28 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign grades to more than 2,600 U.S. hospitals twice per year.

“Patient safety has always been one of our highest priorities, and this award is a testament to your focus on providing the safest care to our patients,” says Fred Manchur, CEO of Kettering Health Network. “As our organization begins the path of recovering from COVID-19, I want to thank you for your commitment to protecting the well-being of not only our patients, but also each other.”
