Congratulations to Kim Jennings, who was named Southview Medical Center’s April Employee of the Month! Kim is a nursing supervisor at Southview.
The Employee of the Month Award recognizes the people you love to work with. These winners show exceptional performance as defined by the network’s Standards of Behavior, live out the network’s values, and demonstrate the healing presence practices outlined in Called to Care. Here is Kim’s nomination:
“My father had an unexpected surgery at Southview Medical Center and was one of the last discharges. I took my father home and then went to fill his prescriptions. After waiting 30 minutes at the pharmacy, I was informed the prescription was unable to be filled because the surgeon had not completed his DEA number. I then returned to Southview through rush hour traffic and was not the happiest person by the time I arrived. I explained my situation to the front desk attendant and was informed the surgery personnel had left. I then inquired about the inpatient pharmacy, and it, too, was closed. I finally asked to speak to the nursing supervisor. Kim arrived, and immediately placed me in a much better mood by understanding my plight. She was able to contact the surgeon quickly and get the needed information so I could fill my father’s prescription. Kim’s calmness, understanding, and quick actions did not go unnoticed by myself. I want her superiors to know the star our network has with employees who champion our Call to Care.”
