Archie Jones is a human resources manager at Kettering Health, a role he has held since November of 2021. Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Archie joined Kettering Health in 2015 as an administrative fellow in Medical Education after graduating from Oakwood University in Alabama.
Coming to Kettering Health, Archie was glad he could explore multiple areas of interest to find exactly what he wanted to pursue, and is thankful to have landed in Human Resources.
“The people I work with every day inspire me,” he said. “I learn so much just by listening and observing—this goes beyond just my team, but everyone I come into contact with.”
His best piece of career advice is “invest in finding a mentor,” and more importantly, find a group of diverse, experienced mentors from all types of work.
“These people don’t necessarily need to be in your field, or at a specific leadership level to provide value. Personally, mine have been extremely helpful in providing insight, feedback, encouragement, and both personal and professional development. Having someone share their knowledge—about anything—with you is invaluable.”
