Ariel Ives Named November Living the Mission Award Winner

Read Time: 1 min

Congratulations to our November Living the Mission Award winner, Ariel Ives who works at Kettering Health Main Campus!

The Living the Mission Award is given to people who bring Kettering Health’s mission to life, demonstrating the sacred work of improving the quality of life for people in the communities we serve. They use their own time and resources to transform lives, whether that’s in one of our facilities or out in the community.

Read Ariel’s nomination story below.

“My wife and I attended the Fairmont High School JV soccer game one Saturday to watch our grandson play. We both have health conditions that limit our ability to walk long distances. Not being familiar with the facility, we found ourselves overwhelmed with the distance that we had to walk to get into the soccer field. We had stopped to rest at one of the benches, when a golf cart came by. We asked the driver where we had to go to get into the stadium. They informed us of the remaining distance to get to the bleachers and we decided that despite already having purchased tickets, we were going to go back to the car and leave. One young lady, who I later found out was the Kettering Health athletic trainer, Ariel Ives, said if we didn’t mind waiting until she delivered items to the benches, she would come back and take us one at a time to the bleachers. She was so kind and even came after the game and returned us to our car. I was so impressed with the caring and kindness of Ariel that I felt compelled to send this letter. I feel she should be commended for going above and beyond. Thank you.”
