Read Time: 2 mins

Congratulations to Barb Seiter, who was named Kettering Behavioral Medicine Center’s March Employee of the Month! Barb works in Adult Psych at the hospital.

The Employee of the Month Award recognizes the people you love to work with. These winners show exceptional performance as defined by the network’s Standards of Behavior, live out the network’s values, and demonstrate the healing presence practices outlined in Called to Care. Barb was nominated by her co-workers, and you can read the nomination stories below:

“Barb has such a kind spirit with patients and staff/peers. I am thankful for her guidance. Every morning that she works, she is making rapport with patients, updating their boards and keeping them in the loop with times for groups and breakfast. Just recently, Barb recognized a need for another employee and took action to help them, which i know was a huge blessing. She is the kind of employee who would do anything for anyone. She always helps celebrate staff birthdays and special occasions. I want to thank Barb for being a great role model.”

“My child was in an accident earlier this year. Everyone at Kettering Behavioral Medicine Center has been very understanding and helpful, but finally it hit me and I had a mini-breakdown, so I talked with Barb just to finally let it out.  I was just getting some things out that I was holding in. I was trying so hard to be strong, and it just was not working for me anymore. I have to say that if anyone ever needs help, Kettering Behavioral Medicine Center is the place to be and go to. Barb sprang into action without me know. So many of our co-workers came together as a family to help me. I realized that I have a wonderful work family here, and Barb truly lives the values of God’s plan.”

“Barb goes above and beyond for both the patients and her co-workers. Barb is the organizer of all parties and unit events. She orchestrated my birthday party (which also happens to be her birthday). She also get up a bridal shower and a couple baby showers. Barb collected money for two co-workers when it was discovered that they were struggling financially at home. Barb goes above and beyond for the patients also. She got a Pepsi today for a patient, simply because it made him smile. Barb anticipates the needs of other and is naturally empathetic. Barb is one of the kindest and most caring people I know. She is more than deserving of this honor.”
