Bev Chasteen was named Fort Hamilton Hospital’s August Employee of the Month. Bev works in the ICU at the hospital.
Bev was nominated for this honor by co-worker Pam Hoelle, because of the extra effort she made for a patient. The patient had been in the hospital for over a month and had a feeding tube and trach, which was causing the patient to become depressed. Bev worked with respiratory, occupational, and physical therapy staff to take the patient outside. The patient was so happy she picked a flower for her room and smiled about her trip outside when anyone talked about it.
