Kettering Health Network employees celebrated Martin Luther King Jr. on January 21. Hundreds of employees attended the annual march in downtown Dayton as well as a walk in Hamilton. Campus events were also held throughout the network, where employees could gather to honor the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.
Network and community leaders broke ground on Kettering Health Network Piqua on December 10. The 48,000-square-foot medical complex will have a full-service, 24/7 emergency department that will offer a full range of imaging and testing services on a non-emergency basis. The facility will also have a medical office building for primary care and specialty practices.
The Years Ahead Health Center opened to patients on December 10. The facility was specifically designed to care for people 55 years and older, offering primary care with a focus on internal medicine, outpatient lab and imaging services, health education and exercise classes, and a community room for socializing and events. Kettering Health Network Middletown celebrated the opening of its physician offices with Fall Fest, which was attended by over 400 community members.
Soin Medical Center held a groundbreaking ceremony for its patient tower on September 10. The five-story tower will add more operating rooms and post-anesthesia care space, a new cardiac catheterization lab, and 30 additional inpatient rooms.
Network employees, physicians, and volunteers participated in the American Heart Association’s annual Greater Dayton Heart Walk on September 22. The network raised nearly $40,000 to support the fight against heart disease.
