Check Out the May Living the Mission Recipient

Read Time: 2 mins

The Living the Mission Award is given to people who bring the network’s mission to life, demonstrating the sacred work of improving the quality of life for people in the communities we serve. They use their own time and resources to transform lives, whether that’s at a network location or out in the community.

You can read the nomination story of the May Living the Mission recipient below. Congratulations to our recipient!

Jeanette Flum – Rad Diagnostic & Administration, Fort Hamilton Hospital

“I would like to nominate Jeanette due to the genuine love she has for her coworkers and patients. I have had the opportunity to work side by side with Jeanette, and she goes above and beyond to help people in all situations. I have seen her help in the emergency room with cleaning patients up, changing bedding, and bed pans being considerate of the patient and their families in times of need. She talks with the patients and always has a smile of her face and a positive attitude towards them. She makes crucifixes and will offer them to people. I have heard her so many times tell patients, ‘I will pray for you’. That is very comforting to so many people and you can tell how grateful they are for her kind words and actions.

She has gone above and beyond with covering a coworker’s full-time position while working her own full-time position. In the winter, she collected blankets, coats, hats, and gloves for the homeless here in Hamilton and delivered them to the homeless shelter. If there is someone in need Jeanette is one of the first people to step up to the plate and say, ‘What do they need?’ She is just an all-around genuine person with a big heart and I have learned so much compassion working with her. She impacts others around her with her positive attitude and genuine heart.  Her kindness is contagious, and she is a great team player. I love working with Jeanette!”
