Clinical and Medical Education

Read Time: 1 min

Following feedback from our affiliated medical, nursing, and ancillary schools, Kettering Health Network Clinical and Medical Education are now accepting clinical rotations for students.

Of note:

  • The majority of medical school rotations will not start until June as directed by the respected schools.
  • Grandview Medical Education will hold on accepting preceptor rotations until September. This is due to the significant travel restrictions and self-quarantine requirements in various states. As travel begins to loosen across the United States, this policy will be monitored closely and adjusted accordingly.

Clarification of Student Dispensation for All Clinicals

Students and clinical faculty will be permitted to attend clinical training activities at Kettering Health Network facilities, in a manner conforming with the travel requirements and other restrictions imposed by the Ohio Department of Health and in effect for Ohio, beginning on Monday, May 4. Those who have traveled outside of the state will self-quarantine for 14 days prior to commencing clinicals. The self-quarantine requirement, for purposes of clarity, does not apply to persons who, as part of their normal life, live in one state and work or deliver services in another state.

Students/faculty will need to enter through the designated entrances for the screening process.

  • All students/faculty will be subject to screening requirements prior to entering the building
  • Students/faculty must wear isolation masks while caring for patients and in the building.
