COVID-19 Attendance Guidelines

It is Kettering Health Network’s responsibility to ensure that care for patients remains our priority. To do this effectively, we need our operations to continue without interruption to serve our communities and to set an example for other businesses and organizations of how we can keep our communities healthy.

We understand that during this time, employees may have a need to be away from work due to a reason related to COVID-19. We are participating with other areas hospitals to be consistent in the way we handle staffing matters related to COVID-19. As a result, we are providing the following guidance related to employee attendance.

COVID-19 Attendance Guidelines

  • When employees report tardies related to COVID-19 through Monday using normal department call-in procedures, it will be documented in accordance with current attendance guidelines, but we will hold on issuing discipline related to the tardy.
  • Should an employee No Call/No Show, discipline may be issued as outlined in the HR-KHN Conduct and Discipline policy Attendance Guidelines.

We will continue to monitor this subject on a weekly basis and will provide additional updates as our response to COVID-19 continues to evolve.
