Covid-19 Convalescent Plasma Fact Sheet for Physicians

Kettering Health Network is now registered with the Mayo Clinic as an Expanded Access site for convalescent plasma treatment for patients in acute care settings with severe COVID-19.  

This trial is now open for our physicians to register patients. Dayton’s Community Blood Center (CBC) is accepting plasma donations from recovered COVID-19 patients and processing and storing the plasma for patients eligible to receive the treatment.

The protocol requires patient or family member to consent to receiving plasma from someone who has recovered from COVID-19. Only hospitalized patients referred by their health care provider will participate in this protocol. 

See attached document for guidelines to identify eligible hospitalized patients to receive convalescent plasma.
