On May 26, Kettering Health Network began offering testing for surgical patients that are undergoing general anesthesia. We are utilizing our free standing EDs and PAT clinics for specimen collection. Patients are being instructed to be present two days prior to the surgery and then to self-isolate. We will continue this process as we refine it.
We are currently looking at expanding our test collection capabilities in the very near future. As we set up these processes, we will be looking at additional populations to incorporate. These populations will include all surgical patients, GI, cath lab, bronchoscopy, employees through Employee Health, and KPN practices for symptomatic patients or patients going to congregate facilities.
