Read Time: 1 min

Patients that are suspected of having COVID (PUI) despite a negative Rapid SARS-COVID 2 test will be placed on the appropriate unit and not in the COVID-designated unit. Appropriate PPE precautions as with all patients should be followed.

If attending physician still strongly suspects the patient (PUI) despite the negative Rapid test, they may order the SARS-COVID 2 diagnositic test. If the patient results positive on the diagnostic test, the patient will be placed on the appropriate COVID-designated unit.
