Current Mask Requirements for Healthcare Facilities

Read Time: 1 min

Based on current CDC guidance and the recent OSHA Emergency Temporary Standard, all individuals entering healthcare facilities must wear a mask. This applies to patients, visitors, staff, and providers; it includes inpatient and outpatient facilities such as medical offices. Fully vaccinated individuals are not exempt from this requirement.

In areas where no patients or visitors can be expected to enter (break rooms, physician lounges, conference rooms etc.), employees and providers who are fully vaccinated do not need to wear a mask. Those who are not fully vaccinated must wear a mask and practice social distancing.
