Cycling for a Cause: Sign Up for Tour de Gem

Read Time: 1 min

Sign up for Tour de Gem, a cycling event and fundraiser that benefits local nonprofits. The event on October 9 is open to cyclists of all ages and abilities, with rides on both bike paths and roads and routes that range from 1 to 104 miles.

Funds raised by Kettering Health’s team will be used to provide screening and diagnostic mammograms as well as transportation and follow-up care for underinsured patients.

How to get involved

You can support breast health in our community in two ways: donating to the Kettering Health team or signing up for the event. If you would like to sign up for the event, enter code “KH2022” for free event registration.

Get ready to ride

To help people get ready, Tour de Gem is holding training rides each week leading up to the event. Riders will need to sign a waiver, and helmets are mandatory. Times noted are when riders will leave the meeting area, so it’s recommended to arrive a few minutes early:

  • Tuesday: Meet at 6 p.m. at RiverScape for a 10-20 mile ride along the bike path.
  • Thursday: Meet at 6 p.m. at Xenia bike station (150 S. Miami Ave.) for a 10-20 mile ride on a bike path.
  • Saturday: Meet at 8 a.m. at 1129 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd. for a 15-30 mile ride along the Great Miami River. Note: This ride is for more experienced cyclists.
