Each day, masks will be delivered to each area/department by materials management.
Isolation masks will be deployed from the following locations (PAR levels being determined):
- Nursing units
- Rehab units
- Radiology
- Outpatient ancillary departments
- Registration
- Kettering Physician Network regional strategy (in progress)
- For physicians and advanced practice providers only:
- Physician lounge/Medical Staff office from 6 a.m.-6 p.m. each day
- After hours: See nurse supervisor or Security
Distribution Process
- Masks and brown bags to be distributed by the department leader or designee
- One mask to be signed out to team member (Click here to download distribution log.)
Safe Practices
- Use the mask the entire shift.
- Perform hand hygiene before and after removing the mask.
- Do not pull mask down below the nose or around neck.
- During breaks, store the mask in a paper bag for reuse after the break.
- Dispose of mask when soiled or damaged (holes, rips, tears). The department leader or designee will determine if a new mask may be signed out.
- Discard the mask at the end of the shift.
