Congratulations to Donna Reichert, who was named Soin Medical Center’s July Employee of the Month! Rhonda works in the Emergency Department at the hospital.
The Employee of the Month Award recognizes the people you love to work with. These winners show exceptional performance as defined by the network’s Standards of Behavior, live out the network’s values, and demonstrate the healing presence practices outlined in Called to Care. Donna was nominated by a fellow employee, and you can read the nomination story below:
“Over the past month, Donna has stepped up in difficult situations to comfort families and loved ones of patients. The first time this occurred, Donna lead prayer while staff and family surrounded the bed of a dying patient. Donna was asked to pray with us and put aside her current tasks to tend to the families needs. The second time Donna went out of her way was last week. The daughter of a patient collapsed on the floor. Donna sat on the floor with the family member and comforted her. Donna held hands with the daughter, prayed with her, comforted her, and talked with her to calm her down. Donna then assisted the daughter to the bedside and stayed with the daughter until she was in a calm state. We are grateful for Donna and her willingness to pray and help those in need.”

Dear Sir:
My wife was transported by ambulance on May 12 to the Soin Medical Center with a heart attack. Your emergency staff did a tremendous effort to save her life, but she passed in the emergency room. Upon her death all the doctors, nurses, staff, and my family were led by a member of the Emergency Department staff in a prayer and after the prayer they led in a hymn.
This act of Christian support I will always remember and I wish to convey my sincere appreciation to your staff and Soin Medical Center for your Christian outreach. In addition, I received a nice sympathy letter from your emergency department about my wife’s passing…
