Education and Tuition Assistance Program Expands to Cover Certificates and Certifications

Read Time: 2 mins

This year, the Education and Tuition Assistance Program at Kettering Health Network will expand to include certifications and certificates, in addition to academic degrees. This change will help employees seeking further education to receive more access to financial assistance for education beyond degree programs.

Payment for certificates will operate in the same way degree programs do, in which you will submit a letter of credit to your academic institution.
Payment for certifications will be by reimbursement, uploaded through payroll.

In 2019 for certificates and certifications, departments will pay for their employees’ continuing education through their cost center. Department leadership will continue to be a part of the approval process.

Kettering Health Network will award a maximum of $5,000 for a non-degree program, limited to two non-degree programs per employee. BLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS education will still be offered through HealthStream.

To apply for tuition assistance for a non-degree program, submit an application through EdAssist 30 days before the course start date. Non-degree program applications will be reviewed weekly.

Kettering College offers certificate programs in advanced imaging technology in a variety of learning environments for those interested in continuing their imaging education.
