Elliot Smith Named Kettering Medical Center’s April Employee of the Month

Read Time: 1 min

Congratulations to Elliot Smith, who was named Kettering Medicine Center’s April Employee of the Month. Elliot works in Spiritual Services at the hospital.

The Employee of the Month Award recognizes the people you love to work with. These winners show exceptional performance as defined by the network’s Standards of Behavior, live out the network’s values, and demonstrate the healing presence practices outlined in Called to Care. Elliot was nominated by a fellow employee, and you can read the nomination below:

“Elliot is one of those individuals whose very presence can positively affect an entire department. His smile and signature bow ties can transform even the foulest of moods. He regularly checks in with staff just to make sure there’s nothing he can do to brighten their day. I
can truly see God work through him with our patients, their families, and the staff. When a very tragic case arrived in the Emergency Department, Elliot was present, spending a great deal of time with the family, consoling them even after the patient had moved to the
ICU. Sadly, this was not the only tragedy for the day and Elliot was back in the thick of it, working through grief with another suffering family. It would not be possible to get through days like today without people like Elliot. He is kind, generous, and cares deeply for those around him. We are lucky to have him on the front lines with us”
