As the COVID-19 situation continues to evolve, staff and patient safety remain a priority. As our Employee Health team responds to and investigates COVID-19 exposures, we have identified that several recent exposures were related to improper or incomplete use of PPE.
Recent COVID-19 exposures highlight behavioral drift in correct use of PPE and proper handwashing. Employees must adhere to all policies and standards regarding appropriate use of PPE. Education regarding appropriate use of PPE is available in HealthStream. If you have additional questions regarding PPE policies or standards, contact Infection Control.
To minimize exposure risk and conserve PPE, students participating in clinical rotations should not enter rooms in which PPE is required.
