Employees Serve 1,200 People on Honduras Mission Trip

Read Time: 1 min

Kettering Health Network is dedicated to improving lives not only of our neighbors, but those around the world. In 2017, the network sponsored a mission trip to Honduras. Twenty-six people from the network participated in the week-long trip, giving back to communities that struggle to give their children something as routine as daily vitamins.

Working directly with Adventist Health International volunteers, the group used Hospital Adventist de Valle Angeles as a home base. They spent four days travelling to remote communities, some local and some more than three hours away, to serve the needs of people.

With four days of clinics, the group saw 1,231 people. They provided patients with a triage center, the opportunity to meet with physicians and providers to assess health issues, and gave access to a makeshift pharmacy and even physical therapy.

“I am truly amazed by the love that was shown to the people of Honduras by this wonderful group,” said Ben Carpenter, team leader and administrative fellow at Kettering Medical Center. “I am truly blessed to have served with everyone.”
