Fort Hamilton Expanding Cancer Services

Read Time: 1 min

Fort Hamilton Hospital is expanding its cancer services on the third floor of the physician office building at 1010 Cereal Avenue in Hamilton, located on the hospital campus.

The 12,600-square-foot third floor will be completely remodeled. The expansion includes 16 private and semi-private infusion bays to accommodate chemotherapy patients, the latest in radiation therapy technology, and 10 clinical exam rooms designed to enhance care for cancer patients. Construction is expected to be completed in the spring of 2019.

“The expansion of our cancer services will allow for better continuity of care for all cancer patients,” says Ron Connovich, president of Fort Hamilton Hospital. “Once the expansion is completed, all our physicians and services will be in one location to better meet the needs of cancer patients.”

The design for Fort Hamilton Hospital’s new cancer care area follows a model that was designed for patients by patients. This model began during the development of the new Kettering Cancer Center on the campus of Kettering Medical Center. To transform the cancer care experience, Kettering Health Network created a patient advisory council to involve cancer patients and survivors in the center’s development–from the facility’s design to processes and treatments implemented throughout the network.
