From a Mobile Unit to a Suite

Read Time: 1 min

A new MRI/CT Suite at Southview will provide a more comfortable environment for patients to receive advanced imaging services.

The new suite will replace the current MRI services at Southview, now located in an outdoor mobile unit.

A $2 million investment, the project will add 2,200 new square feet and renovate 995 feet of existing space. The space will extend out the southeast corner of Southview.

Scheduled for completion this summer, the suite will include an outpatient waiting room, dressing rooms, and also advanced MRI and CT equipment.

Recently Southview upgraded to a Siemens AS64 CT system that reduces radiation exposure to the patient by 33%. Using state-of-the art fluoroscopy biopsy software, the CT system has GPS technology that tracks the needle as it is being placed by the radiologist, ensuring pinpoint accuracy.

With the renovation the MRI equipment will be upgraded to a new Siemens Avanto 1.5 Tesla MRI system. The Avanto uses advanced technology to provide faster and higher resolution scans. This new MRI system also provides advanced orthopedic Imaging.
