Shawanda Smith (Mount Olivet Church of God and Christ) began singing at the age of five and had the opportunity to lead her first song with the church’s adult choir. She released her first project in 2006, titled “Reflections of His Love” that shares some of her life experiences.

The Townesmen and Shelly (Towne Boulevard Church of God) was started by four laymen in a local church to sing for its services. Now after 50 years, it is made up of four servants of the church who love Southern Gospel Music.

The Community Christian Church Praise Team (Community Christian Church) is from West Alexandria, Ohio. They lead the Sunday morning services with praise and worship music from a combination of Contemporary and Southern Gospel favorites. The group hosts two large dinner shows yearly: “A Night at the Grand Ole Opry” and “CCC Southern Gospel Homecoming.”

In addition to writing and recording music, Eric and Emily also lead worship and teach other musicians. Eric has an instructional program for worship guitar, and has seen several graduates of his program become worship leaders themselves.

Apex Band (Phil Wing) is based out of Apex Community Church in Dayton. Most weekends are spent serving at Apex’s two campuses, but the band also plays at various camps, conferences, and events in the region throughout the year.
