Grandview and Southview Give Thanks to Employees

Read Time: 1 min

This Thanksgiving season, the Pastoral Care team at Grandview and Southview medical centers, as well as ambulatory sites, introduced a new holiday custom: saying “thanks” to colleagues at work.

At each of the Town Hall meetings, chaplains and Human Resources distributed thank you cards so the hospital staff could express their thanks to colleagues who made a difference. Completed cards were addressed with the recipient’s name and department on the envelope and then placed in a basket.

A total of 300 cards were collected and delivered during the week of Thanksgiving. “Our mission is to improve the quality of life of people in the communities we serve. This includes our staff,” said one of the chaplains. “We wanted to make sure folks had the opportunity to express their gratitude to their coworkers.”

The chaplains hope to continue and expand the program next year.
