Again this year Grandview, and the organization Life Connection of Ohio, celebrated Donate Life month with a special ceremony and  flag raising event.

Life Connection of Ohio is an independent, not-for-profit agency designated by the federal government as the Organ Procurement Organization (OPO) for Northwest and West Central Ohio. Held on April 17, the ceremony celebrated organ, eye and tissue donations as the gift of life.

Bilal Momin, a kidney donation recipient, shared his journey to health. He spoke about receiving a kidney donation from a fellow church goer who felt a spiritual need to donate her kidney. Bilal has lost several close family members to kidney disease and is especially grateful for his gift of life.

According to Life Connection of Ohio, more than 120,000 people are waiting for life-saving transplants. After the ceremony, staff from Grandview and Life Connection joined Bilal to raise a flag in celebration and praise.

Southview also held a flag raising ceremony for Donate Life Month.
