Prayer Room and Serenity Garden at Southview
Finishes have been selected and construction will begin shortly on the Prayer Room at Southview, which will be located in the former gift shop. Construction will also begin on the Serenity Garden, being built near the Prayer Room, the week of March 20. The Garden Committee met this month to finalize plans, select art and amenities, and develop a timeline for installation. The Grandview Foundation is planning to host a dedication in mid-May. The garden is completely funded by donations, and physicians and staff in Southview Maternity have lead the fundraising on this project.
Save Your Seat Campaign
The campaign to help replace the seats in the auditorium has begun, with a goal to raise $100,000 from Grandview and Southview medical staff and alumni from our internship and residency programs. Further renovation of the auditorium continues, so watch for more information on how you can get involved!
Community Wellness: Lunch & Learns and Health Nights Out
Each month the surrounding community is invited to share in a free lunch and learn education series. Following lunch a lecture is presented on health-related topics. These events have been greatly accepted and attended by the community, averaging 50-75 individuals each month. A list of upcoming community wellness events is below:
- April 11, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Rieck Community Room at Grandview: Dr. Archer will present about hernia repairs.
- April 27, 5:30-7 p.m. at Englewood Health Center: Learn about the importance of primary care and medication management from Ryan Foster, DO, and Nicholas Wolters, PharmD.
HOPE Fund
The 2017 HOPE Fund campaign officially wrapped up Friday, March 17. Thanks to the generosity of our Grandview and Southview family, more than $20,000.00 was raised during the campaign. HOPE stands for Helping Out People in Emergencies, supporting our own employee family when they need it most. Thank you to everyone who supported the HOPE Fund during the 2017 campaign!
