Grandview’s June DAISY Award Winner – Brittany Gray

Read Time: 1 min

Congratulations to Brittany Gray, a nurse on 4100 at Grandview Medical Center, for winning the hospital’s June DAISY Award!

The DAISY Award is given to nurses who demonstrate clinical skill and compassionate care. It was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes, who died of a disease attacking the immune system (DAISY). His family was awestruck by the care and compassion his nurses provided, so they established this award program. You can read Brittany’s nomination story below:

What a great person, and nurse, that loves to work hard–very hard! Brittany is extraordinary, beautiful nurse inside and out!  I noticed how much she likes her patients and gives them a lot of care, enough for Brittany to pass on her lunch. What a very sharing and caring person! I hope she stops and smells the wonderful cinnamon aroma! When I was in Grandview, I was very sick, and Brittany made me feel so special every time she walked in the room. All I know is that she’s the greatest nurse I could ever meet. She is sooo awesome. I would love for Brittany to be in life’s each and every day, she is such a blessing for all of us!”
