The annual Heart to Heart Gala is just around the corner, combining the elegance of a black-tie event with the excitement of a concert performance. During the past 26 years, the event has raised more than $7.5 million for advances in heart and vascular care for the community.
Donny and Marie Osmond were originally scheduled to perform at this year’s event. However, Donny recently discovered a condition that requires surgery on his vocal cords.
“We were surprised and saddened to hear of Donny Osmond’s condition and need for immediate surgery,” says Martin Clark, president of the Kettering Medical Center Foundation. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Donny, that he has a successful surgery and a complete recovery.”
The Osmond family wants the show to go on, so Marie’s newphew, David Osmond, will join her onstage.
“I’m excited to continue with the performance on August 9th with my nephew, David Osmond…We want to support the Foundation and their tremendous contribution to the community.”
Throughout its history, this event has funded advanced medical technology, patient-centered education and recovery, community cardiac and stroke screening and outreach, and advanced caregiver training.
