Helping Hands for Urgent Needs

Read Time: 2 mins

Effective Tuesday, December 14 at 7 a.m.

We aim to continually support our frontline workers as we endure this long battle with COVID-19. The unpredictability of COVID-19 is evident, as Helping Hands was recently stood down. Now, as we face new challenges, we will be bringing back Helping Hands for urgent needs.

Helping Hands volunteers will be compensated for their time.

  • If you re-deploy from your normal job, there will be no changes in pay. You will receive your regular pay.
  • Exempt staff: If you pick up additional hours outside your normal FTE, you will need to clock in and will get paid straight time for the extra hours in addition to your regular pay.
  • Non-exempt staff: If you pick up additional hours outside your regular responsibilities, you will need to clock in and will get paid your regular pay rate.

Former Helping Hands Volunteers:

As before, you will be notified when urgent needs are requested on the Helping Hands Teams Page. Communicate on the Teams page if you can fulfill the Helping Hands request.

New Helping Hands Volunteers:

To express a new or renewed interest in Helping Hands, please complete the volunteer intake survey at the link: https://forms.office.com/r/M5TUq81Nvk

Clinical Nurse Managers:

Note, incoming volunteers should be given non-clinical tasks that require little training upon arrival and never bearing clinical liability. To express an urgent unit need, complete the Urgent Request Form at the link: https://forms.office.com/r/ZNkzgW0pKu
