How do I prepare?
Make sure that you, your team, and providers are ready for ICD-10 by completing this checklist:
- ICD-10 online training via HealthStream – ICD-10 courses have been assigned to the affected staff within the network. Please visit the HealthStream site to complete your assigned training before Oct. 1. Contact Mary.Biers@khnetwork.org to include your employees in the training.
- Epic workflow impact demonstrations (see schedule) – Come see how ICD-10 will affect your workflow in Epic, as well as meet with ICD-10 experts from the Training, Patient Access, Coding, and IS teams for additional support.
- Compliant orders – If your department uses ICD-9 codes in the registration and/or scheduling process today, you will need to understand what changes are occurring to incorporate ICD-10 codes. Please see the documents below for support from the Patient Access team in communicating a multitude of scenarios that are occurring now for appointments and procedures scheduled on and after Oct. 1.
