In an effort to conserve isolation gown supplies, Kettering Health Network Infection Prevention and Control is relaxing the mandated use of gowns for certain forms of isolation.
Gowns will not be required for patients in contact isolation for MRSA or URE. Gloves and proper hand hygiene remain mandatory.
Gowns must still be used for patients on isolation precautions for ESBLs, CRE, and C. diff.
This policy change only applies during the COVID-19 pandemic.
