Ivermectin Update

Read Time: 1 min

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, all treatments and policies have been, and continue to be, closely monitored for new guidance in the literature for effective treatment of COVID-19. We will continue to monitor any studies that show benefit in utilizing this or any other treatment modality for COVID-19.

Ivermectin is not authorized by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for usage in the treatment of COVID-19. The National Institutes of Health (NIH), which has taken the lead in delineating the treatment of COVID-19, states there is insufficient data to support utilizing this drug in the treatment of COVID-19.

We have a limited supply of Ivermectin and it is currently not available from wholesalers and future availability is unknown at this time.   Therefore, we are entering into a conservation mode to reserve remaining supply for commonly used indications.

Any follow-up questions should be directed to the campus CMO and Chief of Staff.
