Meet Jen Shull, senior vice president and chief nursing officer at Kettering Health Network. Jen has served as a chief nursing officer for the past 14 years of her career. A majority of her professional life was with AdventHealth in Florida, until the opportunity arose to join the Kettering Health Network family in 2017.
Jen says her greatest accomplishment is the work she’s been able to do with the amazing people throughout the network over the past 12 months. She says it’s been a privilege to support the teams who have provided incredible care to patients during the pandemic.
Jen is inspired daily by the people in this network. She feels like she gets to work with colleagues that simply want to make the experience for patients and teams safe and meaningful. She was drawn to the network for its quality and culture of caring. She believes it is our culture that allows us to care for patients and each other in such a way that makes Kettering Health Network so special. She wanted to be part of an organization and team that put its people and patients at the center of everything they did, and found that at Kettering Health Network.
One piece of advice she leaves us with is, “as a leader, everything you do begins and ends with relationships. Cultivating and nurturing relationships to create trust and transparency is how you connect people to others and to the why of everything we do for our patients. Create a safe and engaging environment that inspires people to be a part of how care is delivered…and make time to have fun!”
