Jen Shull serves as executive vice president and chief nursing officer for Kettering Health. Her and her family joined Kettering Health in 2017, when she became chief nursing officer and vice president of patient care for Kettering Health Hamilton. She became the system chief nursing officer in 2020.
Before joining Kettering Health, Jen spent the previous 14 years as a chief nursing officer at Advent Health in Florida, and she and her college sweetheart have one son, Max, who is a student at Southern Adventist University.
Jen was drawn to the reputation for quality and culture of caring here at Kettering Health, and counts her biggest accomplishment as expounding upon this reputation and supporting Kettering Health Nursing teams with a new model of support that launched recently.
As a nurse and executive, Jen says “everything begins and ends with caring, transparent, and trusting relationships.” This also expands to what she shared is the best advice for those early in their careers.
“Feedback is a gift,” Jen shared. “Ask for it and learn from it. Give it with grace and kindness.”
