Congratulations to Jennifer Cartee, who was named Kettering Medical Center’s December Employee of the Month! Jennifer works in Case Management at the hospital.
The Employee of the Month Award recognizes the people you love to work with. These winners show exceptional performance as defined by the network’s Standards of Behavior, live out the network’s values, and demonstrate the healing presence practices outlined in Called to Care. Jennifer was nominated by a fellow employee, and you can read the nomination story below:
“Jennifer was eating lunch in the cafeteria when she noticed a visitor coughing. She then noticed the visitor stopped coughing but was having trouble breathing. She was able to get the patient up and perform the Heimlich maneuver to dislodge whatever had cut off the airway. She summoned help and got the patient to the emergency room for treatment. Jennifer was in the right place at the right time for this visitor and was able to save her life. When thanked for her action, Jennifer replied, ‘I have to give God the credit, because I normally would not have been there at that time, so it was providential. I am confident that had I not been there, our fabulous rapid response team would have been able to meet her needs!'”
