Adams, RN, and his nomination is as follows:
“I was working with Dr. Chapman when I had a patient that was on bed rest who weighed almost 500 pounds. Due to their size, it took four to five nurses to slide the patient or provide personal care. We had just laid the patient back into bed after returning from a rocedure when they had an incontinent episode. I needed at least five people to provide personal care. I jokingly asked Dr. Chapman to help because we could use his upper body strength to move the patient around. He stood up, took off his white coat, and nicely said, “Sure.” He went into the room with us and helped clean up and reposition the patient. Furthermore, this was not even Dr. Chapman’s patient. He was so thoughtful, gracious, and kind. We were very thankful for his help and his upper body strength. Dr. Chapman is a smart, caring physician. He is compassionate with his patients. It’s very easy to tell by the way he interacts with them and the staff. He is very much appreciated.”
