Congratulations to Julie Robbins, who was named Grandview’s January Employee of the Month. Julie works in Utilization Management.
The Employee of the Month Award recognizes the people you love to work with. These winners show exceptional performance as defined by the network’s Standards of Behavior, live out the network’s values, and demonstrate the healing presence practices outlined in Called to Care. Julie was nominated by a co-worker, and you can read the nomination story below:
“Julie is a prime example of a model employee. Her bedside manner and care exemplifies the Called to Care model. She takes time with all of her patients and makes sure to address their every need. She took initiative and started a PI project, with one of her colleagues, on how to early recognize and treat wounds starting in the ER, as well as wound prevention. She took time on her own to meet with wound care staff from other campuses, all the way from Preble, to see what they do, their tricks in wound care, and what supplies are needed to best care for these patients and conditions. She is very proactive in managing productivity and “flexing” staff when patient volumes are low, and appropriately calling for support or staying over on her shifts when volume is high and we need backup in our small department. I could not be happier with having Julie in the department and helping the team in caring for the Preble county population. Through the above mentioned actions, Julie acts as an example in the department of what to do. There’s no such thing as “down time” with Julie. When census is low, she does not sit at the nurses station and chat. She takes the initiative to look for things in the department that need addressing for our patients to receive the best care that Preble can offer.”
