Read Time: 1 min

Congratulations to Katelynn Templeton, who was named Fort Hamilton Hospital’s November Employee of the Month! Katelynn works in Environmental Services at the hospital.

The Employee of the Month Award recognizes the people you love to work with. These winners show exceptional performance as defined by the network’s Standards of Behavior, live out the network’s values, and demonstrate the healing presence practices outlined in Called to Care. Katelynn was nominated by a fellow employee, and you can read the nomination story below:

“I am an occupational therapist at Fort Hamilton Hospital and had one of my patients report a kind act completed by a member of the Environmental Services team during her stay. The Patient shared that the employee’s name was Katelynn and she was this patient’s housekeeper. The patient was elated to share the story of her day with me, which included some discouraging news from the day’s testing and how she had been in her room crying when Katelynn arrived to clean her room. Katelynn offered a supportive and caring ear to the patient, listening to her concerns. The patient was also concerned about having help with moving from her old house to a new apartment and said Katelynn offered to help her in her own time outside of work. Katelynn left but shortly returned with a bear and small angel pin that she purchased for the patient in an effort to lift her spirits. The patient was thrilled and shared with me how much this really helped to improve her day! Katelynn deserves recognition for her kind and selfless acts to help this patient.”
