Congratulations to Katrina Lightcap, who was named Greene Memorial Hospital’s July Employee of the Month! Katrina works in Med-Surg at the hospital.
The Employee of the Month Award recognizes the people you love to work with. These winners show exceptional performance as defined by the network’s Standards of Behavior, live out the network’s values, and demonstrate the healing presence practices outlined in Called to Care. Katrina was nominated by a fellow employee, and you can read the nomination story below:
“Today during leader rounding, I spoke with the daughter of a patient who could not stop talking about the wonderful care her mother received at Greene. She especially wanted to thank Katrina Lightcap, who recognized that her mother’s birthday was coming up and the patient would be going home before she could celebrate with her. Katrina used the Angel Fund to purchase a singing teddy bear and small balloon for her mother. She also brought a ‘smile flower’ and presented the gifts to the patient before she left. The patient’s daughter was so touched by the compassion and caring that Katrina showed her mother. She said that she has always received excellent care at Greene and she appreciates the comfort it brings to know that she can leave her mom here knowing she will be cared for and safe.”
