Congratulations to Lana Rucker, who was named Sycamore Medical Center’s December Employee of the Month. Lana works in Rehab Medicine.
The Employee of the Month Award recognizes the people you love to work with. These winners show exceptional performance as defined by the network’s Standards of Behavior, live out the network’s values, and demonstrate the healing presence practices outlined in Called to Care. Lana was nominated by a co-worker, and you can read the nomination story below:
“Earlier this week, while checking in a patient, Lana noticed the patient wasn’t acting like himself and asked if he was okay. The patient stated that he was having trouble breathing and felt like he couldn’t catch his breath. Lana had the patient sit down and sprang into action. She grabbed a wheelchair and immediately took him to the emergency department.
The patient has a history of congestive heart issues, and was admitted to the hospital. I truly believe that Lana’s quick thinking and actions may have saved this man’s life.”
