Congratulations to Kimberly Jenkins, who won a Living the Values Award in October! Kimberly works in the Emergency Department at Grandview, and you can read her nomination story below:

The word angel can be defined as a person of exemplary conduct and virtue. I believe Kim is just that. Kim is always buying clothes in the gift shop for patients’ children who have dirty clothes or candy for an employee having a bad day, but most recently she helped out a patient’s family who had no family to turn to except for the staff caring for their mother. There was a patient who had a stroke and had three children left with no family in the area, no money and sadly no idea where their next meal was going to come from. Kim took it upon herself to generously donate a large amount of money to be given to the patient’s eldest daughter so she would be able to get food for herself and her siblings. Kim performs small acts of kindness everyday whether it be candy or chocolate for the department or just a hug and smile. She does these acts of kindness humbly and always anonymously. Kim brightens the day and lives of her patients and her coworkers. She deserves to be recognized for all of the small things that make such a big difference in lives of the people around her. Kim is not only one of Grandview’s Stars but she is truly one of our Network Stars.
