Masking Update

Read Time: 1 min

Based on the decreasing number of COVID-19 infections in our communities, we are updating Kettering Health’s masking policy for our administrative buildings, located in Montgomery County where the level of COVID-19 transmission has been downgraded from high to substantial.

Effective 2/24/2022, employees working at these locations, which include Prestige, the KPN administrative offices, the ASB, the NOCC, Vienna Parkway, the CF&E, and Ridgeleigh Terrace, are no longer required to wear masks. However, the CDC still recommends that individuals working at those locations—including those who are not fully vaccinated for COVID-19, have compromised immunity, or have underlying health conditions—continue wearing masks.

At this time, we are keeping in place our masking requirement for all of our patient-care locations, including our hospitals, which are covered by the CMS conditions of participation.

The CDC is expected to announce updated masking guidance very soon. We are awaiting that guidance and continuously monitoring the COVID-19 transmission levels across the state to determine when we may be able to further update our masking policy.

Finally, all employees—regardless of the location where they work—should continue to follow other safety protocols that stop the spread of COVID-19, including frequent handwashing, and employees should contact Employee Health if they are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms.
