Don Dixon works in MSICU at Kettering.
His nomination reads:
An elderly couple was admitted to the hospital after having been in a motor vehicle crash. The male patient was admitted to MSICU and his wife was admitted to the floor. Late in the day, it was discovered that the couple’s dog was at home alone and had not been let out or fed in nearly 24 hours. The RN contacted security and the police department in an attempt to have someone check on the dog to no avail. Don heard about the situation and took it upon himself to make arrangements for the dog care.
His actions not only helped in the couple’s healing process and but also gave them comfort.
