Network Media Policy

Read Time: 1 min

Recently media attention has focused on health systems here in the Dayton area and throughout the country and the amazing work our caregivers are performing daily. As a result, some of our employees have contacted media, or media have contacted our employees directly.

We would like to remind you of Kettering Health Network’s longstanding media policy (to read click on Communication/Media Protocols). Please remember that any media inquiries should be directed to the Kettering Health Network Media and Public Relations Department.

Statements by network personnel regarding institutional programs, policies or activities shall be made to the representative medium (i.e., print and electronic media) ONLY with the approval of and in collaboration with a Network Media Relations representative.

This policy has been established to protect our patients, employees and organization, as personal opinions can be interpreted by the public as an official statement on behalf of the network. With this policy, we can ensure that accurate information is being communicated and we do not violate HIPAA.

Now that we have established Network Incident Command to respond to COVID-19, all media interview requests must be approved by the Incident Commander at the request of Network Media Relations.

If you have any questions, please contact Liz Long, Manager, Media & Public Relations at elizabeth.long@ketteringhealth.org or Jimmy Phillips, Director, Network Marketing & Communications at jimmy.phillips@ketteringhealth.org
