Network Nutrition and Diabetes Center Adds New Programs

Kettering Health Network Diabetes & Nutrition Center recently added programs to help you prevent diabetes and resources for those with the condition.

Diabetes Prevention Program

This program is part of the National Diabetes Prevention Program led by the CDC. This year-long program helps you make lifestyle changes that can decrease your risk of developing diabetes by more than 50 percent. For more information, call (937) 558-3988.

Duck Diabetes

Learn how to duck diabetes and enjoy better health by attending a free, one-hour presentation designed to give you the everyday tools to help prevent diabetes. The presentation includes tips for grocery shopping, eating out, losing weight, and increasing physical activity. For more information, call (937) 558-3988.

Diabetes Support Group

Diabetes affects people in different ways, and you may have questions or need support. These free, monthly support groups are led by a certified diabetes educator and are designed to answer questions and offer helpful topics and tips on diabetes. It also gives people the opportunity to share their ideas and experiences with others living with diabetes. To learn more, call (937) 401-7588.

Insulin Pump Therapy

The Diabetes & Nutrition Center has three classes to help you find out if insulin pump therapy is the best option to help you manage diabetes. The various classes will teach you how an insulin pump works, how you manage it, and how to determine which insulin pump is right for you. To learn more, call (937) 401-7588.
